Frequently Asked Questions
Below are a list of questions frequently received. If you do not see an answer to your question below, feel free to reach out.
Are your sugar gliders lineaged? Yes.
Are you USDA licensed? Yes.
How much does a sugar glider cost? Our prices start at $350 and go up. Pricing is noted separately for pet only or with breeding rights. Important to note is that sugar gliders are colony animals and as such we do not sell single joeys unless joining an existing colony or program.
What does "pet only" mean? What are breeding rights? Joeys sold as pet only means they are sold without permission to breed. Male joeys are neutered prior to heading to their home. Females cannot be spayed so remain intact; however, you will not receive lineage detail. Joeys are often sold at a lower price to pet only homes. Joeys sold with breeding rights will include lineage and requires a COI and kinship analysis prior to purchase.
How much does a proper set up cost? Set-up costs, in addition to the cost of the glider(s), start around $500 and can escalate quickly from there😁. You can read more here about our recommended cages, supplies, wheels and more. If this question is of interest you as a possible first time owner, we recommend visiting a few sites and Facebook groups to learn as much as possible prior to diving in.
What is included when I purchase a sugar glider? Each joey will come with a bonding pouch and/or a sleeping pouch. Additionally, we like to share our favorites so often send home treats, small toys and extras.
Do you sell the required supplies? A select group of items can be purchased from us including pellets, sleeping pouches, bonding bags, Freedom Wheels and often toys from our favorite vendors. This often saves time due to vendor wait lists and the lack of local availability of safe sugar glider products. Check out our store for some fun boutique shopping.
How do I reserve or purchase a sugar glider? The first step is to complete the application and submit. Once reviewed we will be in touch to discuss specifics such as hets, lineage, answer questions and more. A $100 deposit is required to reserve a joey. An invoice will be delivered via email. The deposit will be applied towards the total agreed price. Deposits are non-refundable unless B&G terminates the agreement. If the decision is made not to sell a glider, 100% of your deposit will be refunded via the original payment method. Failure to make final payment and/or to make delivery arrangements within two weeks of the ready-to-go date forfeits the deposit. Payment must be in full prior to transport date or neuter date.
Can I come visit the joeys and choose the one I like best? No. As a home based business we are not open to the public.
What payment methods do you accept? What about payment plans? Our preferred payment system is Zelle or cash. Credit card payments are offered through our Wix processing system for a 3% fee. We are also excited to say that we have partnered with Klarna to offer our clients a flexible and simple way to make payments.
Do you offer transport? For those outside of Georgia we offer a number of transport options:
-
Route based transport is available through two different companies. Route based transport runs $215 and this includes the use of transport supplies. Estimated delivery time varies depending on the route and number of stops.
